There is a process that goes with acquiring DLG gliders. There are some ready to buy planes that are great for the casual pilot ,but to get the real high caliber competition planes you have to put your name on a list and wait till the builder gets to you. In some cases I have been on lists for 2 years. There are a few exceptions, the 2 planes I fly now are from a guy in New Mexico who is pretty close to mass producing great planes. His wait is 2-3 months. About a year ago I put my name on the list for a plane out of Sweden from two of the best pilots in Europe. It turns out that the Sirius won the biggest event of the year and is really a hot plane. In December they contacted me about the planes I had on order.Because of the economy I could only take one of the planes I ordered and two of my friends took the others. Well after a long wait they finally arrived today.I have been tracking their travels across the pond and the excitement today knowing that they are coming today is almost to much. This means I have a lot of work to do since I need them for a contest at the end of the month. Its about 12-18 hours of work to get a plane ready to fly. Then you have to get used to how it flies.I only see one little blemish on my plane.Otherwise they are so beautiful...
